ChangeMakers! Marketing Design
In the spring of 2024, my Introduction to Graphic Design class got the opportunity to work with Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG) to design posters, social media, and other takeaways for their upcoming exhibits.
ChangeMakers! is an exhibit highlighting photos of historically impactful people in history. Many come from the civil rights movement and the 20th century. The art gallery team had licensed Bayard and Martin, two fonts designed by Tre Seals of VOCAL TYPE. It was a treat to work with such beautiful fonts with historical roots having been designed after signs activists held on strikes in the 1960s.
As a team, my classmates and I designed dozens of drafts and combined two of these designs into a composition that would evolve into the final printed posters presented in May 2024. I take pride in having designed a new logotype for the exhibit, which the LUAG team loved so much they asked for permission to replace the original logo with mine on billboards and other publications (pictured in header image).
Over the summer, the LUAG team invited me back to help refine the posters and get designs prepared for final print. The original drawn hands were low in resolution, so they needed reworking in Procreate. Other small tweaks were made to spacing in the typography, logo, and QR code at the bottom of the poster. In addition the refining the posters my team created, I designed a new "CTA Card" created to prompt the reader to visit the ChangeMakers! website. Additionally, in the spirit of activism, I designed a pin featuring the ChangeMakers! slogan, "Ideas Can Change the World."
In final production, the team had the poster and CTA card printed as well as my logo featured on billboards displayed along the Bethlehem Greenway.
This project was insanely rewarding to be a part of, as a team member working with my classmates and as an individual polishing designs on my own.
